Bio
& Productions
Norbert Lempert was born in Oradea,
Romania, in 1955; the family emigrated to the U.S. in
1961. As a student Lempert was an Intel (Westinghouse)
Science Talent Search Winner and held positions in bioscience
research at Harvard University and the Weizmann Institute
of Science (Israel). He has a B.A., Magna Cum Laude,
from Amherst College in Neuroscience and English and
an M.A. with a fellowship in the Writing Seminars from
Johns Hopkins University. As a writer and executive
for medical communications agenices in the early '80s,
he pioneered the application of interactive technologies
to provide educational and marketing solutions for the
health care sector. In 1989, he founded Spectral
Resources, Inc., which became the leading provider
of Internet-based communications programs for the sector.
Lempert sold Spectral Resources to Harte-Hanks, Inc.
(HHS, nyse) in 1998, and served that company as a senior
manager until 2004. In 1998, he founded the Lempert
Family Foundation, a private operating 501(c)(3).
As manager, writer, producer, director and editor for
REMproductions, the foundation's
media production group, he develops documentaries and
other media programs in keeping with the Foundation's
broad mission to promote tolerance, understanding and
generosity.
Documentaries & Videos
Under the
Big Tent of American Poetry -- Series of documentary
projects, including a feature-length documentary in
development, 20-30 minute profiles of master poets,
and documentary shorts presenting contemporary American
poets and their poetry. Produced, directed, filmed and
edited Gerald Stern: Still Burning (2008) in
association with the Poetry Foundation. Produced, directed,
filmed, edited numerous documentary shorts available

in development centering on an effort to help preserve
the memory of the Jewish community of Oradea, Romania.
